Bootjack Ranch is located in the Geneseo District of Paso Robles. This sprawling site is our oldest vineyard and is planted with predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. We also farm smaller blocks of Malbec, Barbera, Petit Verdot and Carménère.
Bootjack Ranch was once an ancient riverbed and has two distinct soil profiles. Expansive flats of calcareous soils and rolling hills of sandy loam. The warm days and cool evenings create wines full of vibrant fruit flavors with round tannins and balanced acidity.
In addition to grapevines, we also farm a few hundred olive trees on this site. We bottle a small amount of estate olive oil each year to sell, and use the remainder in our restaurant.
