We grow Albariño at Jespersen Ranch, our cool climate vineyard nestled into a hillside near the Pacific Ocean. This white grape varietal is not often seen but we are proud to farm a few acres that produce an aromatically stunning and crisp wine.
Our winemaking goal was to create a clean, mineral-driven wine with fresh fruit flavors and balanced ripeness and acidity. We hand-harvested our Albariño blocks on October 7th and whole-cluster-pressed the grapes. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks with three different yeast strains for additional complexity. After five months in tank, we blended the wine and bottled in late February.
