We farm 9 acres of Grenache at Jespersen Ranch and are able to make a small amount of wine each year. The cooler climate can be a challenge as Grenache is a notorious late ripener and late. In 2018 we were graced with perfect Fall weather and harvested at peak ripeness in last October and early November. The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented in closed-top stainless steel tanks. A small amount of Jespersen Ranch Syrah was added to the tank as a co-ferment, adding color and structure. The wine was aged in French Oak barrels for 16 months and bottled unfiltered.
