100% pinot noir
We grow Pinot Noir at Jespersen Ranch, our cool-climate vineyard nestled into a hillside in the Edna Valley where foggy mornings and coastal breezes that create the perfect growing conditions for Pinot Noir. We farm 33 acres of Pinot Noir at this coastal site planted to seven different clones of Pinot Noir. In 2016 we got fruit from all seven clones for the first time and this additional vineyard diversity gives us complexity that is hard to achieve in the winery. Our 2016 Estate Pinot Noir had a small amount of whole-cluster fermentation to complement the pure fruit we found that year and was aged in 30% New French Oak to add spice and structure.
